COR Security Helps Lower Crime & Raises Community
Spirit
The Company
Bay Vista Methodist Heights is a low-income multi-family
apartment complex built on 16.5 acres including 37 two-story
apartment buildings and approximately 1,600 people.
The Situation
A steady rising criminal and gang activity through out the
complex caused the on staff security guards to be stretched
thin and the community to be up in arms. The breaking point
came when a young girl was murdered.
The Challenge
Design a security camera system that will aid both the
security staff and San Diego Police Department in
preventing, controlling, and prosecuting future criminal
activity. The security cameras needed to function well at
night. Due to building layout the cameras needed to be completely wireless
and at
the same time affordable.
The Solution
Vandal resistant cameras mounted in key locations throughout the complex allowing the security guards and office
personal to rotate the cameras and zoom in on any suspicious
activity with a click of a mouse from any computer in their
offices or remotely. The San Diego Police Department also
has instant access view and scan capabilities to the complex.
The Result
Crime has reduced considerably, leaving the residents and
community feeling safer. The security guards can now
dispatch and redirect security guards instantly. Security
camera footage has also aided in prosecuting an individual
for an incident that took place.
COR Security Stops Vandalism and Saves Thousands in Loss
The Company
Santa Fe Professional Buildings are a multi tenant office
complex combining both medical and professional tenants.
The Situation
Multiple vandalisms causing tenant concern and triggering
enormous expense. A growing risk of tenants leaving
and vacant spaces remaining unoccupied meant something had to be
done.
The Challenge
Design a system that reduces vandalisms and theft to the
buildings, while blending into the existing building décor.
Due to no on site management the system has to be easily
assessable remotely but still remain affordable.
The Solution
To minimize unauthorized access to both buildings during
non-business hours a card access system was implemented. The
system electronically unlocks and re-locks the buildings
daily. Tenants can also specify which hours their employees
have access to the buildings. The system also allows remote
access to instantly delete employee access following their
termination.
To complement the card access system security cameras
were installed through out the hallways and exterior of the
building. Anytime there is motion the cameras would
instantly record footage of any would be vandals. The system
can as be accessed remotely allowing live or archived video
to be viewed instantly.
The Result
Nearly 100% reduction in vandalism to the property has been
achieved, saving the tenants and owners thousands.
